Metropolitan Museum of Art
It is a study of the two iconic fashion figures, Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada, presented amidst contemporary display accenting over a hundred pieces of their work sectioned according to various overlapping themes. The video projection on the wall shows Schiaparelli and Prada seated across from one another conversing about life, fashion, and art.

There are astonishing similarities in how these women approached their designs, especially in how they challenged the conventional ideals of beauty. However, to me the most fascinating is how they differed in their opinion on whether they consider fashion an art.
I will not spoil the fun by revealing their views here!
To me, this exhibit is just as much about the designers and their work, as it is about recognizing the transformation of the relationship between fashion and art throughout history -- as designers, as women, and as a society. After all, I think it is in the context of history where art can be defined, which may explain why it is the "Impossible Conversation," as our world, our history, is constantly evolving.
A little more evolved,
Christine
